Baxter, California, population 89, boasts little more than a gigantic pink concrete ice cream cone and an unfinished water park. Amidst the tumbleweed and dust, a group of innocently rebellious teenage friends try to beat their perpetual boredom and find a sense of purpose--or at least a way out of a town devoid of opportunity. But everything changes when a truck carrying a mysterious substance crashes, and the FBI places Baxter under quarantine. Existential monologues, romance, explosions, magic, and a daring escape-attempt pepper this off-beat comedy featuring some of Hollywood's hottest young actors.
