Plot: Universal Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures bring groundbreaking, Oscar® - nominated filmmaker Baz Luhrmann's vision of the life of one of history's figures to the screen - Alexander the Great. The film stars Academy Award® nominee Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role and Oscar® winner Nicole Kidman as Olympia, Alexander's mother and one of the most iconic figures of the ancient age, who figures prominently in motivating her son's fate. Produced by the Dino De Laurentiis Company, Alexander the Great is written by Ted Tally (Red Dragon) and Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge) and is slated for location filming in Australia.
