And the really good superhero movies, like "Superman," "SpiderMan 2" and "Batman Begins," leave "Fantastic Four" so far behind that the movie should almost be ashamed to show itself in the same theaters.

The four ‘heroes’ spend more time arguing with each other and using their newfound super powers against one another than is really necessary. If it was done to setup the characters and prepare the audience for a sequel, it didn’t work. I don’t want to see another “Fantastic Four” movie. One is more than enough, thank you very much. C

Remakes that are better than the original film are very rare indeed...This is one of them, although there are extenuating circumstances here. The original in this case was one of the worst movies of all time, a film so atrocious that it was never released. A straight-to-bootleg horror so bad it's legendary.

What a mess "Fantastic Four" is. Everything about it bears the stench of amateurs, from the unspectacular special effects to the sitcom-lame dialogue to the butchered storyline. Hard to believe that in one 15-month period we have endured "The Punisher," "Elektra," "Catwoman" AND "Fantastic Four," the four very worst comic book adaptations, all lined up. Fantastic Four is like a child of a movie, wanting to sit at the adults' table with Spider-Man and Batman Begins, but then told to go the other side of the room and play with its toys -- ironic because it really should be seen as a Marvel Comics granddaddy. Since no one else takes it seriously, it can't take itself seriously either; as such, it's content with being funny and shallow. 4/10 --Jeffrey Chen The latest Marvel-superhero-comic-turned-movie, "Fantastic Four" is not a good film, but neither is it one worthy of too much critical enmity.
