She works as a graphic designer for Hedare Beauty, a mammoth cosmetics company on the verge of releasing a revolutionary anti-aging product. When Patience inadvertently happens upon a dark secret her employer is hiding, she finds herself in the middle of a corporate conspiracy. What happens next changes Patience forever. In a mystical twist of fate, she is transformed into a woman with the strength, speed, agility and ultra-keen senses of a cat. With her newfound prowess and feline intuition, Patience becomes Catwoman, a sleek and stealthy creature balancing on the thin line between good and bad. An amalgamation of bad clichés purr-loined from other, better superhero movies, this motion picture is an embarrassment to all involved, from single-named director Pitof to Halle Berry, who has by now thrown away all of the goodwill she gained from appearing in Monsters Ball. --James Berardinelli (ReelViews)
Should we be outraged that Oscar winner Halle Berry is now prowling around in a skimpy catsuit? No, we should be irked that this movie doesn't objectify her more!--Stephanie Zacharek (Salon)
A good film may have been too much to ask, but there was a bizarre form of immortality within this one's reach. Even in that sense, Catwoman is a failure: not beautifully bad so much as just plain terrible. D+--Rob Vaux (Flipsidemovies.com)
With the recent slate of mostly excellent comic book adaptations, it’s sad to see a production that threw everything learned by the likes of Bryan Singer and Sam Raimi away. D---Edward Havens (FilmJerk.com)
“Catwoman” is dangerous because is flies in the face of what comic book adaptations have consistently proven works, and what audiences have lined up for in droves recently. It boggles the mind to think about why the producers have taken such a glossy, campy route with this movie and character, but clearly they were afraid to try and mount a considerate film. Don’t reward them, stay far away. F--Brian Orndorf (FilmJerk.com)
‘Catwoman’ is not a great superhero film by any means. Does it deserve all the bad buzz though? No it doesn’t. The film is a mixed bag, not an outright disaster. --Joe Rickey (Movie-Gurus.com)
I don’t think the film ever tries to be serious but it’s hard to tell because Halle Berry certainly appears to be trying; a lot more so than Sharon Stone. How she was able to deliver her lines with a straight face is impressive. 4/10--Scott Spicciati (Movie-Vault.com)
The only real redeeming quality of Catwoman is the cheap summer camp value. In fact, Catwoman is so bad that I actually recommend you see it. It’s the movie you and your friends will rip on all summer long. --James Brundage (FilmCritic.com)
Clichés abound in the film's script, from the characters to the plot developments. It'd be unreasonable to expect pure originality out of a film like this, but Catwoman doesn't even try to approach some kind of middle ground. --David Nusair (Reel Film Reviews)
This ain’t your grandparents Catwoman. Halle Berry fits the role as well as she does the outfit, and sparks an entertaining franchise that’s sure not to disappoint. --Derek May (MovieWeb)
Despite the presence of Oscar-winner Halle Berry -- who clearly seems to be giving it her all -- the latest comic book adaptation is marred by contrived plotting, self-indulgent direction, a campy vibe and a weak villain. --Scott Mantz (MovieMantz.com)
Whatever campy, comic value it possesses in the beginning is diminished, come its end. Halle Berry has shown that she can do much more than this. At least, this time, she manages to keep her clothes. --Danny Baldwin (BucketReviews.com)
For about 40 minutes Catwoman is campy, trashy and fun. Then it's just trash: dull and depressingly empty. --Nev Pierce (BBC Films)
The overall vibe of Catwoman is that of plain, simple laziness; the plot is a third-generation Spider-Men retread, the FX are glossy and bereft of wonder, the actors seem bored to the point of coma. --Scott Weinberg (eFilmCritic.com)

I've never cared much for cats anyway, but "Catwoman" clinches it. Next time I see one, I'm going to kick it into the river. D+--Eric D. Snider (EricDSnider.com)
Worst of all is how it never defines Catwoman – is she fighting for good and balancing that with cattish outbursts of bad, or just looking for an open can of tuna? 60/100--Brian Webster (Apollo Guide)
'Catwoman' is a sad excuse to dress Halle Berry in leather--Jami Bernard (New York Daily News)
Badly directed, horribly scripted, dismal mess of a film that is every bit as bad as you’ve heard. Poor, poor Halle Berry. --Matthew Turner (ViewLondon)
“Catwoman” is pretty well summed up by Hedare: “This is a disaster. It’s a total bloody disaster.” --Lou Lumenick (New York Post)
Funny for all the wrong reasons, this may feature a feline in nightwear, but the cat's pyjamas it ain't. 2/10--Anton Bitel (Movie Gazette)
