Cult favourite entertains with a script that tries for brains over schlock and comes out somewhat intriguing because of that fact. The grimy look of the film works, Stern is above average in a rare non-slapstick role for him, the music score is good and even though the monsters look a tad hokey they're still alright. -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
What makes this movie so great though is the dark, melancholy feel of it. It is very dreary and depressing, and it gives you a glimpse at what really happens in the lives of not-so-fortunate people. ... This is definitely one of b-movies best kept secrets. --Frank Castle aka DrS (Bloody-Disgusting.com)
