MADONNA (Abbie) is one of the most successful recording artists ever, with more than 100 million albums sold worldwide, and over twenty-five Top Ten singles, including "Like A Virgin," "Material Girl," "Like A Prayer," "Express Yourself," "Vogue" and "Ray of Light." Her latest album, "Ray of Light," earned six Grammy nominations and won four Grammys, including the Best Pop Album and Best Music Video awards. Madonna also received two additional Grammy nominations for her hit single, "Beautiful Stranger" from the soundtrack for "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me." As a pioneering video conceptualist, Madonna has done more than any other artist to define the art form as we know it today.
As an actress, Madonna earned a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy) for her portrayal of the title role of "Evita." She made her feature film debut in "Desperately Seeking Susan," and went on to star in such films as "Dick Tracy," "A League of Their Own" and "Body of Evidence."
Madonna was the subject of the acclaimed documentary "Truth or Dare," a behind-the-scenes look at her Blond Ambition tour, and she also starred on Broadway in David Mamet's "Speed-the-Plow." Madonna heads her own multimedia company, Maverick Entertainment, which encompasses Maverick Records and her own film company, MADGUY Films.
