Synopses for The Impostors (1998)
1.
This riotous throwback to the slapstick comedy of the vaudeville era is inventively written, directed, co-produced, and performed by Stanley Tucci (BIG NIGHT). He and Oliver Platt play acting partners just trying to catch a break. Down on their luck, they end up as accidental stowaways on an ocean liner. Trapped on the ship, they get involved in hilarious antic after hilarious antic, helped by a fabulous supporting cast including Tony Shalhoub, Lili Taylor, Isabella Rossellini, and the nearly unrecognizable Alfred Molina and Campbell Scott. Reminiscent of MONKEY BUSINESS as well as early Woody Allen (the Woodman actually makes an uncredited appearance in THE IMPOSTORS), the film is a wild romp, expertly put together by Tucci.

Meet Arthur and Maurice, two out of work actors who escape from the police by stowing away aboard a luxury liner, but soon the ship hits the fan, and the imposters must give the performance of a lifetime not only to evade the authorities, but to foil the dastardly plot of a deranged crewman who has explosive plans for everyone on board.
