Synopses for The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes (1969)
1.

He's Dexter Riley (Kurt Russell), just a regular-guy college student at Medfield College--until one fateful night he is accidentally transformed into a human computer. His newfound genius makes him an overnight sensation when he gets all the answers right on a college quiz show. This instant celebrity status also brings an instant massive ego, which threatens his friendships as well as his safety. Caught up between battling college deans (Joe Flynn and Alan Hewitt) and a dangerous mobster (Cesar Romero), Dexter soon learns friends are more valuable than money. This movie, released in 1970, is a true romp with silly situations and madcap misadventures. The size of the computer itself is now good for a sight gag. It's likable but goofy, with no real weight. A fun, innocent diversion that the whole family can look and laugh at, each for different reasons. Did people really dress like that? --Peggy Maltby-Etra

2.An electrical accident in Medfield College's new computer system shocks dim-but-cuddly undergraduate Dexter Riley into instant genius. The original owner, notorious criminal A.J. Arno, had vital racketeering numbers in the computer, all of which have found their way into Dexter's brain. Not only is Dexter smarter, but he knows all the criminal's secrets. First of three campus comedies starring the young Russell - followed by Now You See Him, Now You Don't and The World's Strongest Man.

3.Walt Disney Film Classics features some of the greatest films ever created, each with its own unique collection of timeless, memorable moments. These films are filled with fun for any generation, and are a wonderful addition to any classic Disney library. This electrifying, offbeat Disney comedy slyly raises the age old question of friendship and true meaning. Before nerds, geeks and cyberpunks, there was regular-guy Medfield College student Dexter Riley (Kurt Russell), who accidentally turns into a human computer through a shocking lab mishap. As the hype over his instant genius threatens to swell his head, he becomes the center of a winner-take-all tug-of-war between greedy college deans and dangerous gamblers, which lands him in big trouble. The "genius" Dexter then learns a valuable lesson when the same friends he had earlier turned his back on now rush to bail him out. This delightful Disney romp is guaranteed to entertain your entire family with hours of riotous laughter -for every generation.
