When explorer Christopher Columbus (George Corraface) proposes the world is round and wishes to prove it by sailing East to reach India, he is scoffed at by his fellow Italian countrymen, he travels to Spain to seek financing there. After proving his Spanish loyalty and being thoroughly questioned by inquisitor Tomas de Torquemada, he receives the sponsorship he needs from King Ferdinand (Tom Selleck) and Queen Isabella (Rachel Ferdinand). Setting sail into the unknown Eastern void, Columbus is faced with a mutinous revolt before reaching a mysterious island (America) and its strange Indian inhabitants.
John Glen (OCTOPUSSY and IRON EAGLE 3-ACES) directs this story of Columbus, the man who challenged the limits of the world. Featuring a plethora of beautiful Oceanic footage, CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS-THE DISCOVERY attempts to present Columbus in a modern way - passionate, flawed but dedicated to his burning belief that the world was round and a new route to the East was possible.
