Plot: Set in battle-scarred Belgrade, this film explores the devastating effects of violence on the human psyche -- following a seemingly random group of Yugoslavian citizens as they try to survive in a society blasted off of its foundations by war. A vengeful cab driver, a crippled police officer, a group of friends in a gym, a girl on a bus, a con man, a pair of errant lovers, and a roaming performance artist all find their lives interconnected through a bizarre series of events both comic and unsettling. Winner of the Best Picture Award at the Venice International Film Festival and the European Film Awards.
