Cameron Diaz in Vanilla Sky (2001)

CAMERON DIAZ (Julie Gianni) has an impressive filmography that reflects both small independent films and large studio projects. One of three "heavenly" detectives in the box-office hit "Charlie's Angels," Diaz will appear opposite Leonardo DiCaprio and Daniel Day Lewis in Martin Scorsese's highly anticipated drama "Gangs of New York" and in the contemporary comedy "The Sweetest Thing." Finally, in a show of her talents behind the scenes, the versatile actress contributed her voice to the DreamWorks animated hit feature, "Shrek," along with Eddie Murphy, John Lithgow and Mike Myers.

In 1998, Diaz earned a Golden Globe Award nomination for her role in the phenome nally successful outrageous comedy, "There's Something About Mary." Her performance in "My Best Friend's Wedding," opposite Julia Roberts, Rupert Everett and Dermott Mulroney, garnered her a 1997 Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Favorite Supporting Actress in a Comedy, and the year before that, the National Association of Theatre Owners named her ShoWest's Female Star of Tomorrow.

Since making her feature film debut opposite Jim Carrey in the 1991 hit, "The Mask," Diaz has appeared in Oliver Stone's football drama, "Any Given Sunday," for which she received the 2000 Blockbuster Entertainment Award for Favorite Actress in a Drama. In 1999, she garnered nominations for a SAG Award, a BAFTA Award and a Golden Globe Award for her performance in Spike Jonze's critically-hailed "Being John Malkovich." Other films to Diaz's credit include Peter Berg's "Very Bad Things"; the black comedy, "The Last Supper"; "Feeling Minnesota," with Keanu Reeves and Vincent D'Onofrio; "The Brothers McMullen" and "She's The One," both written and directed by Edward Burns; and Danny Boyle's "A Life Less Ordinary," opposite Ewan McGregor.
