Synopses for And God Created Woman (1988)
1.A female convict escapes from jail and hitches a ride from a gubernatorial candidate. He takes her back to prison, but she meets a man and convinces him to marry her in order to qualify for early parole. She sets the terms for the marriage "arrangement," has little interest in the marital conventions, and uses her freedom instead to start a rock and roll band. She also takes up with the candidate while his wife is away, and in the process almost betrays her efforts to start a better life.

2.  ...and on the Seventh Day, He got creative.

She's sexy. She's seductive. She's Robin Shay (De Mornay), a beautiful free spirit whose spontaneous style always get her into trouble - and now she's escaping from a New Mexico prison! But freedom is fleeting as Robin escapes right into the lap of politician James Tiernan (Langella), who reluctantly puts her back in jail. She talks carpenter Billy Moran into a hasty marriage, effecting her immediate parole. However, Robin soon learns that freedom has its price - a "husband" and his family - and all she wants is to play rock 'n' roll. With a smitten politician in one hand, and a passionate husband in the other Robin creates her own rules - then breaks them!

3.The astounding success of Roger Vadim's And God Created Woman revolutionized the foreign film market and turned Brigitte Bardot into an international star. Bardot stars as Juliette, an 18-year-old orphan whose unbridled appetite for pleasure causes trouble in the French Riviera; her staid husband Michel (Jean-Louis Trintignant) endures beatings, insults, and mambo in his attempts to tame her. Criterion presents this milestone of cinematic naughtiness in a stunning new 16x9 Eastmancolor transfer, supervised by the late director.
