Plot: The cheese-loving Wallace (Peter Sallis) and his ever-faithful dog Gromit-the much-loved duo from Aardman's Oscar®-winning clay-animated "Wallace & Gromit" shorts-star in an all new comedy adventure, marking their first full-length feature film.As the annual Giant Vegetable Competition approaches, it's "veggie-mania" in Wallace and Gromit's neighborhood. The two enterprising chums have been cashing in with their pest-control outfit, "Anti-Pesto," which humanely dispatches the rabbits that try to invade the sacred gardens. Suddenly, a huge, mysterious, veg-ravaging beast begins terrorizing the neighborhood, attacking the town's prized plots at night and destroying everything in its path. Desperate to protect the competition, its hostess, Lady Tottington (Helena Bonham Carter), commissions Anti-Pesto to catch the creature and save the day. Lying in wait, however, is Lady Tottington's snobby suitor, Victor Quartermaine (Ralph Fiennes), who'd rather shoot the beast and secure the position of local hero-not to mention Lady Tottington's hand in marriage. With the fate of the competition in the balance, Lady Tottington is eventually forced to allow Victor to hunt down the vegetable chomping marauder. Little does she know that Victor's real intent could have dire consequences

It all goes horribly wrong, of course, and at this point, surprisingly, so does the film. I know, "The Curse Of The Ware-Rabbit" isn't supposed to be "LA Confidential" but for the most part, this feature version drags like a limp cauliflower. Still, the conclusion does pick up steam winding up with an uproarious bang! Go for the beginning and the end and try to endure the middle.--Eric Lurio
The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, as you may have guessed, does feature a bunny-monster who goes on "night of vegetable carnage," and so the film -- in the grand tradition of the W&G toons -- invokes classic film, from King Kong and Frankenstein to Harry Potter and Cronenberg's The Fly; hell, there's even an extended takeoff on Snoopy and Red Baron. But really, it's all about taking on the supposedly unflappable British character, and flapping it a bit.--MaryAnn Johanson
The Curse of the Were-Rabbit is an absolute delight from start to finish, without question one of the better commercial offerings we have had this year.--Shawn Fitzgerald
So thank goodness there are still people out there who value content over volume. Thank goodness there are kids’ films that allow parents and children to laugh together. Thank goodness for Wallace and Gromit! --Uri Lessing (eFilmCritic.com)
A delight for the kids and well set to take classic status, Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were Rabbit is must-see animation. A shoe-in for this year's Oscars, if the Academy has any sense, Wallace and Gromit remain two of the most wonderful British characters out there. --Joe Utichi (FilmFocus.co.uk)
And even though it’s been made with American money, this film is packed with rough-around-the-edges charm – you can even see thumb prints on Gromit’s back – and pleasingly English touches such as Wallace’s string vest, mugs of tea and an unhealthy obsession with prize marrows.--David Edwards
