As a big summer action flick, Mission Impossible III delivers the goods. It doesn't break new ground in the genre the way the Bourne series has and nor does it have the classic status of the Bond films, but as mindless entertainment it's certainly enjoyable.  --Scott Nash (TheMovieBuffs.com)
Nevertheless, I recommend all movie-lovers (Cruise-haters or not), to check out M:I3. It's an admirable big screen directorial debut for J.J. Abrams, who has indubitably left a certain "Alias" feel to the movie, with all the tricks and gadgets, right down to the quirky computer guy - although I much prefer the Alias computer geek. It is what it is, which is popcorn fun, but it also goes an extra mile in trying to create a thread that doesn't just tie the big special effects moments together. The idea of testing a duty-bound protagonist's capacity for love is not anything new, but the effort to make it central is easily noted and much appreciated.
