Plot: It is now one year after the “unfortunate acorn incident” when Chicken Little caused big-time havoc in his hometown of Oakey Oaks by proclaiming that the sky was falling after being conked on the head by what appeared to be an acorn. Down but not out, the plucky chicken joins the local baseball team in the hopes of reviving his reputation and winning the respect of his father, Buck Cluck. When he leads the town to an upset victory, he becomes the toast of the town. But no sooner has the champion chicken redeemed himself when he is hit on the head one more time. And this time the sky really is falling! Fearful of once again being labeled crazy, he is reluctant to tell anyone what has happened. Instead, he enlists the help of his closest pals—Runt of the Litter, Abby Mallard (aka Ugly Duckling), and Fish Out of Water—in an attempt to save the day without sending the town into a whole new

Chicken Little seems a bit stretched and it is only 86 minutes long. However, there are enough jokes to keep you interested. --Scott Nash (TheMovieBuffs.com)
If Disney is again going to rise to the top of a genre they ruled for decades, they're going to have to do better than this. There's nothing in Chicken Little that should cause concern for either Dreamworks or Pixar. --James Berardinelli (ReelViews)
The movie did make me smile. It didn't make me laugh, and it didn't involve my emotions, or the higher regions of my intellect, for that matter. It's a perfectly acceptable feature cartoon for kids up to a certain age, but it doesn't have the universal appeal of some of the best recent animation. --Roger Ebert (Chicago Sun-Times)
Still, a collection of cute scenes do not a movie make, and Chicken Little isn't really memorable beyond a good handful of slapstick gags. And though it's unabashedly designed for kids, the film didn't really resonate with the children in my audience. During the action-filled climax, my own three-year-old daughter lost interest and chose to incessantly sing "Jingle Bells" instead of pay attention to the film. --Christopher Null (FilmCritic.com)
The slickest part of CHICKEN LITTLE is how it manages to weave a genuinely touching father-son story into its hellzapopping fabric without selling either short. This is as much fun as anyone can have at the movies. --Andrea Chase (Killer Movie Reviews)
Take the kids to a matinee. They'll love it and they'll get in for half price anyway. --Eric Lurio
Disney’s animation studio has proven in recent years that, without Pixar, it is still possible for them to craft an enjoyable cartoon feature that exhibits distinct personality, disarming wit, and genuine charm...However, as their first non-Pixar computer-animated creation in five years, Disney’s CHICKEN LITTLE is simply made up of too many different parts to bode well for the studio’s future. --William Goss (eFilmCritic.com)
Does the film engage in one too many musical montages? No; it engages in at least two too many. And does it fall short of being as heartfelt as it is funny, which was always one of Pixar's strengths? Yes, it falls short. But it IS heartfelt, and it IS funny, and it is a movie full of delights. The world still needs Pixar, but Disney might be able to survive without it. B+--Eric D. “Chicken Little” looks more like “Valiant” than “Shrek” or “Toy Story.” Maybe toddlers will find the colorful images engaging, but most older audiences will find the picture overlong even at a mere 82 minutes. The title’s oddly appropriate, though, sincein an era of animation giants, this movie is small potatoes. Or in keeping with the theme, chicken feed. C--Frank Swietek
The only part that really works is the comedy: The gags are bright and they keep on coming, tossed over the plate with the fizzy topical references any self-respecting family comedy has to have these days...The worker bees at Walt Disney Feature Animation have disassembled the Pixar model to its gears and springs and put it back together, and all that's missing is the soul. --Ty Burr (Boston Globe)
Not to worry. Cuteness trumps horror, and Chicken Little suffices as kiddie entertainment in a moment when there's not a whole lot for youngsters to devour. And even the aliens must bow to Disneyesque imperatives: They're cuddly. C+--Robert Denerstein
This is one of the best kids film and will be up there with some of the best family film like Lion King, Toy Story, Dumbo and many more. This film was so funny and the animated was outstanding. I am going to keep the review short this is one very funny and fun family film that everyone will like check it out today. --Paul Perkins
Why do all these movies seem stuck with this same personality? I think it's Shrek's fault. Just because that movie made fun of fairy tales, it seems every studio but Pixar has been bullied out of creating sincere stories. Only Pixar manages to do anything original now; the rest emulate Shrek, and it's a very sad day when Disney chooses to do the same. 2/10--Jeffrey Chen (WindowToMovies.com)
The movie has a 50s sci-fi attitude that works very well and helps set up and sustain the second half. It’s great to see Disney go for a concept with such determination and succeed. A---Edward Kasche (TheCinemaSource)
