I thought this movie was hilarious. Justin Long is such a versatile talent, exploring all kinds of comedy in his work. The supporting cast was great, too. It's getting bad reviews from middleaged cynics who probably graduated from the very schools that "Accepted" chose to mock in its satire, and that is to be expected, the movie isn't really their genre. I read a fan's review who liked the film but said they wished it had gone the "Old School" "Van Wilder" and a bit of "American Pie" route to make it that much more funny, but I don't know, I don't think a movie has to be R-rated to be funny. A film critic said that "Accepted" was "Revenge of the Nerds" meets "Animal House" without all the raunchiness. Anyway, I liked it because, crazy as it may sound that I receive wisdom from movies such as these, I realized that I just wanted to go to med school for the prestige. But I could go to nursing school, be done in a 1/4th of the time, still get to globe-trot and help people, save loads of cash, and get my life started that much sooner. I don't care what my family or anyone else around me thinks. I don't have to conform. I know who I am. And that was what "Accepted" was all about. Figuring out who you are, what you want, and achieving it in the most optimal way that works for you.
