Tagline: New York has a new problem!
Plot: After an electricity from a torn cable revives him on the river bottom where his body lies, masked slasher Jason Voorhees stows away on a cruise ship carrying a graduating class of Crystal Lake teens to the Big Apple. Along the way, the ship braves a storm, which is nothing compared to the violence that the hockey mask-wearing psychopath inflicts on the passengers. Upon arriving in New York (in the film's final twenty minutes), Jason's ways don't seem out of place, and the locals hardly pay him any mind.

Essentially this is a Jason movie and it can still be enjoyed. There's a classic fight scene on the roof and a hilarious scene where Jason destroys a radio and the hoodlums that had been listening to it threaten Jason with a knife.--Sonny Fernandez (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
Decently directed follow-up isn't the best sequel but at least it's watchable. ... Forget your logic, guffaw at the cheesy boxing moment, just groan at the bad Jason make-up and be mildly entertained - I was. -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
...director Rob Hedden does find ways to make Jason, by now a force of little mystery, interesting, bestowing upon him supernatural abilities such as appearing by will. But there's nothing here to warrant more than a viewing. 42/100--Jack Witzig (ColdSpot)
The series really started to bite bad with this one.-- (eSplatter.com)

I think the director wanted us to see that Jason wasn't just a mindless killing machine but a hurt angry child underneath. Altogether I think this is a great movie, not the best, but definitely not the worst. -- (Bloody-Disgusting.com)
