WILLIAM LEE SCOTT brings such charm and uniqueness to his characters that most cannot help but remember him.

Scott is currently in Austin, Texas starring in the new HBO pilot 5.15 written and directed by Richard Linklater (School of Rock, Dazed and Confused) Notably, Scott recently wrapped “The Winning Season,” playing the legendary baseball player Ty Cobb, opposite Matthew Modine and Kristen Davis. “The Winning Season” is set to air in spring 2004 on TNT.

Next up, Scott will appear In Bottle Neck, tackling his first leading role as Wesley Benfield, an ex-con blues-guitar prodigy, appearing opposite Lucas Black as his autistic, piano playing best friend. Scott’s real life interest in music made it possible for him to contribute a song to the soundtrack. The film, based on the book Killer Diller by Clyde Edgerton, is due out winter 2004.

In addition, Scott starred in the box office hit Identity (Sony Pictures) opposite John Cusack, Amanda Peet and Ray Liotta. In this “whodunit?” thriller, Scott plays the ruggedly handsome role of Lou, husband to Clea DuVall. On the lighter side, Scott also appeared in the hilarious prequel Dumb and Dumberer (New Line Cinema).

In 2003, Scott received the “Rising Star” award presented at the 5th Annual ‘Young Hollywood’ Awards hosted by AMC and Movieline Magazine at the El Rey Theater. The award was presented to Scott by fellow Pearl Harbor co-star and friend Josh Hartnett.

Scott’s most challenging role as a fighter pilot in the Bruckheimer and Bay blockbuster, Pearl Harbor (Disney), opposite Josh Hartnett, Ben Affleck and Kate Beckinsale, was a huge success. He also co-starred in the Bruckheimer production, Gone in Sixty Seconds (Disney), for director Dominic Sena starring Nicolas Cage, Angelina Jolie and Giovanni Ribisi.

Other screen credits for Scott include James Toback’s racially charged drama, Black & White (Sony), October Sky (Universal), a 1950’s period piece directed by Joe Johnston, The Opposite of Sex and Gattaca. In 1995, Scott earned Columbia University ’s Best Actor Award in the student film, Tis the Season.

On the small screen Scott co-starred in the Emmy-nominated “Before Women Had Wings,” Oprah Winfrey’s first telefilm production with Ellen Barkin and Julia Stiles, Robert Altman’s “Gun” and “Cracker” for CBS, and he co-starred for five years on WB’s “The Steve Harvey Show.”

Scott was raised in a small town north of New York City , where he went to an arts-intensive high school studying writing, painting, singing and theatre. Scott resides in Los Angeles , and divides his time between acting and screenwriting, still finding time to paint, do martial arts, read, play the drums and remain an avid sports enthusiast.
