Tagline: Sleep all day. Party all night. Never grow old. Never die. It's fun to be a vampire.
Plot: When newly-divorced Lucy moves her sons to her father's house in Santa Clara, California -- "the murder capital of the world" -- her teenage son, Michael, quickly falls in with the town's bad kids: a bike-riding, Jim Morrison-worshipping gang of blood-sucking vampires. Her younger son Sam and his buddies, the Frog brothers, are the only ones who recognize the signs of vampirism in Michael, and they plot to battle the legions of the night before they take over the entire town.

It's a vampire comedy, and they're hard not to like. Joel Schumacher really shows us his tits with this one. Aerials, slow motion, wide angles, color schemes, motorcycles, everything adds up to one sleek, defined '80s vehicle.--C. Lochlyn Carter (Diabolical-Dominion.com)
This teen spin on vampire legend is still a popular movie today as people who saw it when it first came out were pulled in by it's 'hip' cast and flashy direction. But how does it stand-up today? It's still an entertaining time that may get a little dopey at times and feels thin on plot ocassionally but makes-up for that with a campy tone, some amusing attempts at humour. ... Don't even attempt to take this seriously and you'll have fun. -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)

"The Lost Boys" was just another example of how excellent the 1980s were, and it helped continue the resurrection of the vampire sub-genre that began with 1985's "Fright Night." The result is a dynamite, suspenseful, well-produced movie that helped redefine the vampire genre.-- (eSplatter.com)
