Moving and hilarious. Some sticky spots in the acting and writing but otherwise deeply facinating. Yeah, the sex is all real, and the camera mostly unflinching, but it turns out that's not the point. In this movie sex is a metaphore rather than everything being a metaphore for sex. Thus sex is ironically liberated from the means and ends that it is in so many movies. Ironically, not leastwise because so many of the characters are litterally searching for a sexually fulfilling experience when really they need something deeper in their lives.
