Mr. & Mrs. Smith Reviews |
Maybe not complete rubbish, but it is uninspiring and weak and it made Mr. and Mrs. Smith not the enjoyable movie experience that one would hope it to be. It just goes to show you, you can't always throw a couple of pretty faces up on the big screen and expect everyone to be entertained. [read review] 5.5/10
Still, the whole thing feels like an exercise in amorality and stupidity. If violence is truly the only way to resurrect matrimonial bliss then perhaps we should seriously consider a constitutional amendment banning heterosexual marriage. It’s just too sick and perverted. [read review] --Uri Lessing (eFilmCritic.com)
It’s an enjoyable piece full of beautiful actors blowing things up and being “cute”. This is summer time and this is what a popcorn movie (that isn’t completely brain-dead) should feel like. Enjoy it. It’s not something that’ll change you’re life but it’ll put a smile on your face for a day and in the end, that’s what movies are all about anyway, I guess. [read review]
...for me, the weakness in Mr. and Mrs. Smith lies in the script. To quote the British, it is complete rubbish. [read review] 5.5/10
...Mr. and Mrs. Smith looks as generic and impersonal as it feels. I suppose it accomplishes what it sets out to do, which is to entertain, but it could have accomplished much more. Of course, a sizeable portion of the audience probably didn't care aboutthe movie's underachieving attitude--they got what they paid for. But I care. And that's what made my heart sink even as I laughed along with everyone else. [read review]
Straight up, I had a good time watching this film and in the summertime, when the weather is hot, my sex life is cold and movies are a great way to complement an afternoon or evening, this is the perfect addition to a bag o’ popped corn, a bottle o’ sodaand a hunkering for fun! [read review] 8/10 --'JoBlo' (JoBlo.com)
However, it could have been so much more–especially with the potent combination of Jolie, Pitt and Liman–that it is hard to see “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” as anything other than a mildly entertaining film that should have been so much more. [read review] --Peter Sobczynski (eFilmCritic.com)
It's a messy story, never quite coming together as well as helmsman Doug Liman would probably have liked. Huge chunks of the plot are never properly explained, the direction doesn't move things along quickly enough... [read review] 6/10 --Gary Panton (Movie Gazette)
You could not possibly take the action seriously. It is very exaggerated stuff. This is a very cleverly made film with just the right touch of humor. It is a popcorn movie that is a lot of fun to watch. [read review]
Mr. and Mrs. Smith is the first truly over-the-top and over-blown this summer, but at least it's still entertaining with two beautiful leads that should only exist in a magazine. [read review]
It's big and brazen and more than a little goofy -- but it's also effortlessly entertaining, exceedingly well-constructed and just a big generous plate of shiny summertime fun. [read review] --Scott Weinberg (eFilmCritic.com)
I don’t care who the actors are....but if you’ve got a bad writer and inept director, you’re not going to have an entertainment worth diddlysquat. [read review] 3/10
If you don't like action comedies and prefer slow-paced French melodramas, don't go see this. But if you want to have a very good time, see this. [read review]
It’s fast paced, exciting, hilarious, and sure to be one of the best times you’ll have at the movies this summer, and maybe even all year. [read review] 9/10
Slick and glossy but also shallow and annoying, this just about scrapes by thanks to the undeniable chemistry of its two leads. [read review] --Matthew Turner (ViewLondon)
Mr. & Mrs. Smith is smart, zesty, original and sexy and it well deserves a place on your must-see list this summer. [read review] 86/100
