Plot: After dispensing with former colleagues O-Ren Ishii (LUCY LIU) and Vernita Green (VIVICA A. FOX) in KILL BILL VOL. 1, the Bride (UMA THURMAN) resumes her quest for justice in the series’ second installment, KILL BILL VOL. 2. With those two down, the Bride has two remaining foes on her 'Death List' to pursue – Budd (MICHAEL MADSEN) and Elle Driver (DARYL HANNAH) – before moving on to her ultimate goal… to kill Bill (DAVID CARRADINE).In Vol. 1 we learned that Bill, a broker of killers for hire, had assembled and trained a ruthless assortment of assassins, the so-called Deadly Viper Assassination Squad (DiVAS). Each of these gifted murderers was code-named for a different species of poisonous snake: O’Ren-Ishii (Lucy Liu) was Cottonmouth, Elle Driver (Daryl Hannah) was California Mountain Snake, Vernita Green (Vivica A. Fox) was Copperhead, and Budd (Michael Madsen), Bill’s kid brother and the only other male in the Viper Squad, was known as Sidewinder. The lethal weapon known as Black Mamba, played by Thurman, the most talented of them all, was also Bill’s lover, and she became a fugitive from the assassination game when she learned that she was pregnant with his child. At that moment her worldview shifted on its axis. She no longer wanted to kill or to put her life in mortal

While Kill Bill Vol. 2 is a decent film, it doesn't have what made Vol. 1 so much fun. It replaces action with more character drama. 6/10-- (ComingSoon.net)
Volume 2 is not excellently paced, does boast an awesome style, and does not lead up to a kick-ass finale. However, there are some truly great scenes in this movie that are likely going to light up some audiences in applause and cheers. B+--Lee Tistaert (Lee's Movie Info)
The thrill has been completely abandoned in Volume 2, which trades its buckets of crimson blood for pages of dry dialogue that explore the history of these characters but bring us nowhere new. --Sean O'Connell and Jeremiah Kipp (FilmCritic.com)
"Kill Bill 2" has the unmistakable quality of a story that has been lived entirely in a screening room, and its characters feel like people once-removed. The effect is a movie that seems Tarantinoesque. --Bruce Newman (San Jose Mercury News)
"Vol. 2" isn't anywhere near as self-indulgent as its predecessor, but it still plays like the work of a man too in love with his creations to decide which of his darlings to kill - so he ended up with merely a very good movie.--Lou Lumenick (New York Post)
I enjoyed Kill Bill Volume 2 more than Volume 1. The second movie is less kinetic but more satisfying. --James Berardinelli (ReelViews)
Tarantino's talent can be dizzying, and Uma Thurman and David Carradine have great chemistry. But all it adds up to is that Q.T. seems to revere every movie he's ever seen.--Charles Taylor (Salon)
I found "Kill Bill Vol 2" to be almost unwatchable. I say "almost" because at the end of my showing the crowd cheered and I realized that there was actually an audience for this kind of nonsense. D+--Craig Younkin (Lee's Movie Info)
While “Volume 2” fails to match the intensity and action of part one, it is still an interesting film filled with the great characters and dialogue that sets Tarantino apart from his peers. That being said, while the film disappoints, it is still decent entertainment. C+--Gareth Von Kallenbach (Lee's Movie Info)
Though the movie's lack of violence - all told, moments of action add up to no more than 10 minutes - might turn off impatient viewers, Volume 2 is ultimately a far more rewarding experience than its predecessor. --David Nusair (Reel Film Reviews)
If Vol 1 was a hell-blazing, dripping cool action piece, Vol 2 is a benign, subtle, character piece that delivers the heavy-bag without the punch. --Derek May (MovieWeb)
The action is toned down, but the drama and laughs are turned up in the incredible final chapter of the tale that enhances Tarantino's place as one of the greatest filmmakers of all time. --Brian Gallagher (MovieWeb)
"Vol. 2" isn't a conventional sequel or just the second part of the story, it's a whole different film that stands on its own. --Kevin N. Laforest (Montreal Film Journal)
I liked this movie, but it didn't bowl me over as much as the first volume did, with a lot less action, less style and a few too many monologues to keep me entirely riveted in a tale that isn't exactly the "deepest" to begin with. 7/10--'JoBlo' (JoBlo.com)

The pleasure derives not so much from what happens, but how. And how! Kill Bill: Vol. 2 bursts with energy and excitement and, as with any Tarantino project, movie love and homages swell the edges of every frame. --Marjorie Baumgarten (Austin Chronicle)
Ultimately, "Kill Bill Vol. 2" is an astounding conclusion to Tarantino's epic tale, and Uma Thurman is nothing short of magnificent.--Paul Clinton (CNN Showbiz)
Vol. 2 does so many things right that it's almost a shame that Tarantino didn't take out the more useless material. B+--Craig Younkin (Lee's Movie Info)
Ultra-cool and packed with emotion, the concluding half to Tarantino’s fourth film has a kind of magic that keeps you thinking about it long after it has ended. A--Jennifer Alpeche (Lee's Movie Info)
The first "Kill Bill" was almost revolutionary in its wildness whereas the second volume is the unfinished business but without the creative anime and senseless massacres that made the first film so fun. "Kill Bill 2" is still an extraordinary product and a satisfying conclusion to the "Kill Bill" saga. That is, if it's really over.--Scott Spicciati (Movie-Vault.com)
Eagerly anticipated second ‘volume’ of Tarantino’s stylish, bloody, pulp revenge thriller – longer, more dialogue-heavy and with less cinematic flourishes than Volume 1, but still just about delivering the goods in terms of crowd-pleasing action sequences. --Matthew Turner (ViewLondon)
