Catapulted to star status in the smash hit “American Pie,” TARA REID has been identified as one of America’s most promising young film stars. Most recently she starred as the sweetly optimistic drummer, Melody Valentine in the movie version of “Josie and the Pussycats,” reprised the role of Vicky Lathum in the blockbuster hit “American Pie 2” and joined the party in “National Lampoon’s Van Wilder.” She’ll next be seen in the thriller “Heaven’s Pond” and the comedy “Knots.”
Tara was raised in Wyckoff, New Jersey and, after showing an exceptional gift for acting, her parents enrolled her in The Professional Children’s School in New York City.
Her first major film role came in 1998, playing Bunny Lebowski opposite Jeff Bridges in the Coen Brothers’ comedy “The Big Lebowski.” She then appeared as the campus radio host in the teen horror film “Urban Legend,” in the indie film “Girl” and has a small but memorable role in “Cruel Intentions.” After the success of “American Pie,” Tara starred in “Body Shots” and “Around the Fire.” She also joined the all-star cast in the Robert Altman-directed film, “Dr. T and the Women,” playing one of Richard Gere’s daughters, and starred in the American re-make of the French comedy “Just Visiting” with Jean Reno.
