Another Question....about the movie

I wanted to also know how different the movie is from the actual book...
Sometimes you can right away tell the difference in characters and setting or the actual events that took place.. but sometimes it is hard to figure out if there IS a difference between the book and the movie. I realize the movie had just came out not even full five years ago, and that is why I am interested in watching it for it is very "modernish".. and me being a Muslim only makes this interesting to watch from my own perspective and Kurieshi's perspective also.

My local public library still has to transfer the book itself to me and that's why I am still waiting to find out all these questions myself. I was hoping to watch the movie before the book and was wondering if it would really confuse me or throw me off the track.

I would really appreciate your input and say in this matter. I'd like to know as much information as I could. I've read movie reviews and movie plots along with the book's.. and have not been able to come to a definite conclusion. What could be better than to ask the website itself?
