Plot: When a secret nerve toxin is released into a city's water supply, the results are disastrous. The entire city's inhabitants die of slow and horrible deaths, only to return as soulless, hungry zombies. As chaos fills the streets, a small group of soldiers on leave help a group of teens fend off the zombies in the city's outskirts. Meanwhile, in the heart of the city, the last on air radio station gives commentary to the scenes outside. But when the army rushes into the city to save what's left, all Hell breaks loose, as the two swarms collide in an apocalyptic nightmare.A supposed sequel to Fulci's legendary ZOMBIE (aka ZOMBI 2), there is actually no relation between ZOMBIE 3 and its alleged predecessor. Though Fulci is given full directorial credit, he dropped out of the project fairly early and was replaced by Bruno Mattei, who previously made the outrageously awful ZOMBIE knock-off HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD. Here, a trio of G.I.'s on leave are soaking up the rays on an idyllic island when a nearby scientific team tests a serum designed to bring the dead back to life. So mind-bendingly awful that it's downright hilarious,

The film before this one was a lot better, but this was decent. It had some good gore and interesting action, but it's nothing too good in my opinion. Worth a rent if you're a zombie fan. 5/10-- (UHM)
Highly entertaining cheese has an okay premise of making the zombification a disease; but there's just too many ridiculous things to make it anything but a giddy and inept joy. ... Not as bad as its reputation though pretty stinky. -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
Though how great of a filmmaker the late Lucio Fulci was, there is always a film you wish that their name wasn't attached. ... This movie isn't really worth the money to rent. Besides the catchy cover art, and having Fulci in the directors chair, that's it. If you want to watch a really bad excuse for a zombie movie, by all means watch this. --Zaero (Bloody-Disgusting.com)
