Tagline: They're back...They're Hungry...And they're NOT vegetarian.
Plot: Do you wanna party? The freshly risen undead certainly do in this horror-comedy that finds two employees of a medical supply company unwittingly releasing several zombies from cylinders in which they have been trapped for many years. The nasty brain-eating creatures are as hungry as ever, and eager to make up for lost time. Soon, the local citizenry is forced to deal with a large-scale zombie epidemic. The writer of ALIEN helmed this punk/horror pastiche.

Not quite enough gore but jokes galore and I would've liked more zombie mayhem but what's on hand manages to please with a kick-ass 'Tar-Man' zombie, a good 'police barracade' assault, a funny 'send more paramedics' moment, a great soundtrack and a ending that's pretty good. ... Not the greatest horror/comedy out there but fun viewing and certainly better than its follow-ups. -- (TheVideoGraveYard.com)
This is my favorite horror film of all time! It contains zombies, punks, and gory humor. The zombies are great--they run, scream, and eat your brains. This one contains more great action and dark humor then half a dozen movies I have seen. Highly recomended! --Colt Gay (ColdSpot)
Excellent semi-sequel to "Night of the Living Dead," with a punk rock score and plenty of comedy. ... Funny, scary, shocking, gory and well-directed, "Return" is a brilliant 1980s horror movie, even better than "Re-Animator" and even (I think) better than "Dawn of the Dead," although it certainly owes its very existence to that movie.-- (eSplatter.com)
It is at the one hour mark (I'm estimating) that you'll probably want to turn the movie off. Somehow the movie loses it footing around this point and takes on an uncomfortably serious tone. --Michael LaMere (Bloody-Disgusting.com)
