This movie is really a shame regarding the book. I mean, it's not that it was SO bad, but it's just a cheesy love-story with superficially drawn characters and an awful acting. I'm not the kind of person who constantly criticizes acting, in fact, I've enjoyed Hilary Duff's acting in A Cinderella Story although many say she's a disaster. But I find everyone quite stupid. And I felt no romance between Ella and Char; the only pasable scene is that conversation before they kiss. And probably what made me maddest is the fact that it doesn't follow the book at all, and it's WAY too worse than Gail Carson Levine's beautiful story. The HP films are not exactly like the books, but I am not embarrased that in the credits or so, it says they're based in JK novels. It happened to me Ella Enchanted.
