Elie Chouraqui in Harrison's Flowers (2000)

ELIE CHOURAQUI (Director / Writer / Producer) is the founder of France's 7 Films Cinema and 7 Art produc tion companies and recipient of numerous prestigious awards and nominations. His most recent film Harrison's Flowers received the San Sebastien Film Festival Award for Best Cinematography and the Spanish Screenwriters Guild Award for Best Screenplay.

His 1993 film The Groundhogs (Les Marmottes) received the Sarasota Film Festival, Toronto Film Festival and France's Cesar Awards with that films stars Marie Trintignant (Harrison's Flowers) receiving a nomination for Best Actress and, Christopher Thompson and Virginie Le Doyen chosen as most promising young actor and actress.

His 1995 film The Liars (Les Menteurs) was nominated for the Berlin International Film Festival's Golden Bear Award. His 1978 film My First Love (Mon Premier Amour) received Cesar nominations for Best Actor (Richard Berry) and Best Actress (Anouk Aimee).

Chouraqui's other film credits i nclude: Miss Missouri, Man on Fire, Love Song (Paroles Et Musique) and What Makes David Run?

In 1978, he founded 7 Films Cinema, which exclusively produced films Chouraqui wrote and directed. In September 1996, the company expanded its operation to include television, advertising and music publishing as well as film production. The company has also produced Takashi Koizumi's Ame Agaru (After The Rain) written by Akira Kurosawa and Nadine Trintignant's Victore.

He recently produced and directed the musical "The Ten Commandments" through his new company 7. The production opened last year in Paris and is touring Europe, Canada and the U.S. Chouraqui's is currently developing director Didier Le Pecheur' s No One Is Innocent and Daniel Vigne's People Next Door.

7 Films Cincma's television production credits include: Chouraqui's "Une Page d' Amour" and "Les Marmottes."

Projects in production are "Victorie" and "Passion Assassine." Projects in development are: a remake of "Paroles et Musique," ("Words & Music") "Les Nuits blanches du chat Bott'" (The Sleepless Nights of Puss N' Boots") and for television: "Coco Chanel" starring Anouk Aime.
