Whoopi Goldberg in Rat Race (2001) WHOOPI GOLDBERG (Vera Baker) earned a Best Supporting Actress Oscar® for her memorable performance as 'Oda Mae Brown' in Jerry Zucker's Oscar-nominated "Ghost." "Rat Race" marks the first time the two have worked together since "Ghost." "The Color Purple" launched Goldberg's film career and earned her an Oscar nomination, the Golden Globe Award, as well as the NAACP Image Award for Best Actress. Goldberg starred in the 1992 box-office hit "Sister Act" which garnered her another Golden Globe nomination.
