Tagline: A fate worse than death!
Plot: One night, a jealous housekeeper kills the fiancee of her employee, a rich orphan named Frank, in hopes of getting his attention. But Frank only digs his girlfriend back up, and after a bit of taxidermy, puts his "doll" to bed. Frank then sets out to find the right replacement for his beloved. But with each successive girl he finds, none seem to meet the bill, and are subsequently disposed of with the aide of his disapproving housekeeper.Kieran Canter stars as Francesco, a fabulously wealthy but deranged young man who loses what is left of his sanity after his girlfriend dies. Unable to let her go, Francesco preserves her body, paying obsessive attention to detail, so that she will never leave him. As his psychosis accelerates, Francesco begins killing innocent young women and dissecting their corpses. Featuring a soundtrack by Goblin (SUSPIRIA) and scenes that purportedly feature actual corpses, BEYOND THE DARKNESS is surely not for those with a weak stomach and is presented here completely

With a fairly dull soundtrack by rock group Goblin, and with some over-the-top gross-out gore, this is one of D'Amato's more interesting films. Some consider it his best. ... All in all, the film's a pretty interesting taste of the "video nasty" era of horror...-- (eSplatter.com)
A plus about this movie, and probably the only thing, is the gore. ... A decent watch for Itallian gore fans. I was personally bored with what was going on in the film. Not recommended. 4/10--FrighT MasteR (UHM)
