 External Reviews
external linkSo overall we have a great cast, great performances(especially by Perkins), skillful direction, a tight character driven script, an amazingly creepy score, and most importantly....lot's of suspense. Definately check this one out. The best of the Psycho sequels, but surprisingly the rest almost as good(especially 4). I'm sure Hitchcock himself would like this film.

external linkDirector Richard Franklin comes nowhere close to matching the original, but comes up with an enjoyable sequel anyway. 2.5/4

external linkPsycho II is a great, accessible piece of psychological horror, intelligently scripted, well-directed, and brilliantly acted. ... However, though I may not have liked the couple of scenes of gratuitous violence near the end of the film, the ending itselfis a masterstroke--a bit of pitch black humor of which I think Hitch himself might have approved. 78/100

external linkHolland's screenplay actually does a great job of crafting a real mystery and building on the story of the first film although some of the "revelations" at the end of Part 2 are a bit far-fetched. ... "Psycho II" is a must see, near masterpiece.
