FREDDIE PRINZE, JR. (Jim Winston) has quickly entered the ranks of Hollywood's most sought-after and most recognized young stars. Head Over Heels marks the second teaming of Prinze with director Mark Waters who previously worked with him on the independent cult-hit film The House of Yes. Next up is Summer Catch, which he recently completed filming, where he plays a baseball player given one final chance at the big leagues. Prinze will soon go to Australia to begin work on the highly anticipated live action adaptation of Scooby-Doo. Following the rave reviews of his breakout performance in the 1999 box office hit She'sAll That, Prinze began to carve out a place for himself as one of his generation's hottest new leading men. His on- screen success has led Prinze to a slew of awards and accolades. He received three 1999 Teen Magazine Awards for She's All That as well as a 2000 Teen Magazine Award for Best Actor for his performance in Down To You. Other awards include a Nickelodeon Teen Choice Award, a Blockbuster Award nomination as well as several N4TV Movie Award nominations. Further testament to his popularity is the fact that Prinze is consistently among the most down-loaded actors on the Internet including AOL, where he was named the most popular young entertainer.
Prinze left his hometown of Albuquerque after finishing high school and moved to Los Angeles to focus on his acting career. After making his feature film debut opposite Michelle Pfeiffer, Peter Gallagher and Claire Danes in To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday, Prinze went on to star with Parker Posey in The House of Yes. The box office smash I Know What You Did Last Summer followed with an ensemble cast that included Ryan Phillipe, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Prinze reprised his role in the sequel, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. Recent film credits include Miramax's Down To You with Julia Stiles and Boys and Girls with Jason Biggs and Claire Forlani.
While still only 24, Prinze is amassing a body of work that will keep him on the short-list of Hollywood's leading men for years to come. Prinze currently resides in Los Angeles.
