Blade: Trinity Reviews |
‘Blade Trinity,’ the third movie based on the Marvel comics character, is a fun crowd-pleaser that will thrill action/vampire movie buffs. Look a little closer and you’ll find that this movie may disappoint hardcore fans of either the first two films or the comic itself with inconsistencies galore. [read review] --Harrison Cheung (Movie-Gurus.com)
Even for diehard fans of the comic series or the first two movies, it's difficult to imagine this film satisfying for anyone. Trinity tries to be inventive by introducing new vampire hybrids (in a Rottweiler and a Pomeranian), brave new allies, and intricate new weapons. Yet, much of this is severely overshadowed by dialogue that is corny, irrelevant, and laughably bad. [read review] --David Levine (FilmCritic.com)
Blade Trinity is an incredibly stupid movie, even by the idiocy of its predecessors. There's no way to evaluate it as a serious film or as a viable movie. It's hard core junk, fit only for fans who want to see the pyrotechnics and high tech hardware usedto kill vampires. [read review] 3/10 --Chuck Schwartz (The Cranky Critic)
All in all, Blade Trinity did punch my clock via its action set pieces, its sweet coating and its yuk-yuk humor but I can’t say that much of it had an impact on me. It played, I watched, I grinned and I forgot. I would’ve hoped that the franchise had ended with a slit throat not a neck scratch. [read review] --'The Arrow' (Arrow)
This is not to say that Blade Trinity is perfect. It's a little bit predicable, especially Act Three, as Blade et al face the über-dude. Yes, it all gets a little bit butt-twitchy as we wait for the inevitable climax. And yes, it's still hard to root forsomeone whose eyes we can't see due to the damn sunglasses, but maybe that's the joke? [read review] --Blake Snyder (MovieWeb)
There is so very much that is so very irksome about BLADE TRINITY, the third installment in the Blade series and the one with the least reason to exist, that one scarcely knows where to begin. One is tempted to sum it all up with a short sentence warningpotential audiences to stay away, but I find venting cathartic after cinematic experiences this unpleasant, hence the rant that follows forthwith. [read review] --Andrea Chase (Killer Movie Reviews)
"Blade Trinity" is not a comedy, but its funny parts are more memorable than its action-horror parts, which are competent but unremarkable. I cannot tell what fans of the series will think, because as I mentioned, I am not a very good fan myself. Most ofthe film has drained from my memory already, as if sucked out by some fanged, malevolent force. [read review] B- --Eric D. Snider (EricDSnider.com)
The film was so much better than I thought it would be. I really hated Guillermo del Toro's Blade 2, but Trinity returns to the Blade franchise roots with some new faces and 'old' enemies. [read review] --TacosYumYum vol.2 (Bloody-Disgusting.com)
Overall the movie is not a bad one, its lack of actual horror remains the problem and the horror factor on this one just slips out the window compared with the other graphical ones. [read review] -- (terrorwatch.net)
These are ideas that high school drama students would likely come up and it's embarrassing what kind of film can be made with a few special effects and some B+ headliners. [read review] --Lynda Lin (The Movie Insider)
Badly plotted sequel that sidelines Snipes but remains watchable thanks to serviceable action sequences, some witty dialogue and the performances of Reynolds and Posey. [read review] --Matthew Turner (ViewLondon)
Although fairly expensive to produce, “Blade: Trinity” is on the level of one of those made-for-video sequels that have a familiar title going for it and not much else. [read review] --Peter Sobczynski (eFilmCritic.com)
Awfully amateurish, a comic book film more concerned with its own style than about actually giving us that one final layer that makes the character complete. [read review] D --Craig Younkin (Lee's Movie Info)
But Goyer earns a few brownie points for delivering doses of campy, gory goodness and for presenting a "Part 3" that doesn't just flat-out suck. [read review] --Scott Weinberg (eFilmCritic.com)
"Trinity" lacks anything vaguely resembling a plot, while failing to deliver suspense or thrills. [read review] --V.A. Musetto (New York Post)
Let's hope this underwhelming third instalment really is the final nail in the Blade coffin. [read review] 5/10 --Anton Bitel (Movie Gazette)
