EDDIE MURPHY (Jim Evers) began his career as a stand-up comedian 25 years ago. He joined the cast of “Saturday Night Live” at the age of nineteen in 1980 and since then has gone on to establish a successful career on the silver screen. His film grosses are amongst the highest in the industry.
Among his many film credits are “48 Hours,” “Trading Places,” “Dr. Dolittle,” “Coming to America” and the “Beverly Hills Cop” series.
In 1989, Murphy made his directorial debut with “Harlem Nights,” a period comedy he wrote and starred in, opposite Richard Pryor and Redd Foxx. In 1996, he portrayed seven different characters in the worldwide box-office smash, “The Nutty Professor.”
Murphy starred in and produced the hit comedy “Life,” costarring Martin Lawrence, and starred in the hit comedy “Bowfinger,” opposite Steve Martin. He also voiced Mushu the Dragon in the animated hit “Mulan.”
Murphy also starred in “The Nutty Professor II: The Klumps,” costarring Janet Jackson, and “Dr. Dolittle 2.” He was the voice of Donkey in Dreamworks’s animated hit “Shrek” and will be heard in the sequel along with Mike Myers and Cameron Diaz.
Murphy’s most recent release was the successful family comedy, “Daddy Day Care,” and he will reteam with producer Brian Grazer for a new version of “The Incredible Shrinking Man” for Universal and Imagine Entertainment.
