When a suburban California family hires a Swedish housekeeper to put organization back into their hectic lives, they have no idea that this will result in a terrifying dance with the devil. From the moment Anna Bergstrom (Olivia D'Abo) arrives, Kate Cowan (Marcy Walker) senses that something isn't right about the young nanny. What follows is a nightmare of satanic worship and obsession.
After a countless series of sinister and fatal mishaps, Kate realizes that Anna is not only out to destroy her house and her life, but she is after her daughter, Christina, too. To her shock and disbelief, she discovers that her daughter is to be sacrificed to the devil on her sixth birthday. Desperate and with no one believing her story, not even her husband, Kate is left with no choice but to fight this terror on her own. On the eve of Christina's birthday, Kate will make one last desperate attempt to rescue her daughter from the grips of the evil nanny.
