Cheaper by the Dozen 2 Reviews |
...“Cheaper By the Dozen 2" is a miserable experience filled with crude slapstick, cruder sentiment and retrograde jokes (those uncomfortable by the tolerance surrounding “Brokeback Mountain” will be relieved to learn that this movie boldly teaches kids that people who appear to be homosexual should be laughed at mercilessly)... The movie is otherwise about what you'd expect. As family movies go, it skews younger than the better "Rumor Has It" and "The Family Stone." It's a lot better than "Yours, Mine and Ours," which has inexplicably grossed more than $45 million, all of whichcould have been more usefully dropped into Santa's little red bucket outside the theater. Regardless, with more family-friendly movies in Steve Martin’s future, upcoming attempts have gotta be better than this. Even the bloopers during the closing credits stink. [read review] --Norm Schrager (FilmCritic.com)
The tagline for “Cheaper by the Dozen 2” is perhaps the most well-written sentence regarding this film. “This Christmas, you better watch out!” scream the movie posters. [read review] --Chelsea Bain (BostonHerald.com)
Parents looking for family-friendly fare during the holidays could do a lot worse than “Cheaper by the Dozen 2.” Of course, they could do substantially better, too. [read review] C
“Dozen 2” is mild and charming, and gives me hope that maybe someone realizes that not all family films need to be entirely assaulting and insufferable. [read review] --Brian Orndorf (eFilmCritic.com)
Whatever the current fascination with big families is, I just wish it would go away. [read review] -4
