While it tries for a more psychological script than the original it just doesn't work because there's enough really poor scattered scenes throughout and one extremely stupid killing spree that has Freeman walking around with a gun and cackling maniacally. ... The weakest entry in a so-so series. 

Call it Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 1.5. After all, it's only part of a new film--nearly half of the movie is footage from the first Silent Night. The rest of it is an exercise in gratuitous violence and poor acting.

Really bad dialogue and acting are a highlight of this laughable sequel which once again has a psycho Santa on the loose killing teenagers who have sex.

The whole film is basically just the brother talking to the psychiatrist. It doesn't really pick up untill the last 15 or so minutes. ... A dumb sequel. It has nothing but flashbacks from the first film and a lot of bad acting. Don't waste or time. --FrighT MasteR (UHM)
