Plot: Though most do not watch Mario Bava films for their tightly constructed plots, this film still provided much of the inspiration for the first two FRIDAY THE 13TH films, as well as some of the actual scenes. The plot hinges on a bunch of murderous relatives who are all competing for position to inherit the estate of the matron of the family, which is mainly the bayside resort at which they are staying. However, a gaggle of teens show up and see a bit too much and, well, it becomes the BAY OF BLOOD...

 Hailed by many as the film that inspired high-body-count slasher pics such as "Friday the 13th," Mario Bava's gory, early 1970s mystery has nice atmosphere and plenty of gore. In fact, this is probably the most explicit film Bava ever made.-- (eSplatter.com)
A surpisingly good movie considering the year it came out of. Hard to follow in parts because of the quality of the movie. A lot of good gore and death scenes. Check this movie out if you can. 6/10--FrighT MasteR (UHM)
