Synopses for Three Days of the Condor (1975)
1.

Robert Redford and Sydney Pollack continued their longtime collaboration (the actor and director have worked together on Jeremiah Johnson, The Way We Were, The Electric Horseman, and Out of Africa, among other films) with this taut spy drama. Redford plays a reader for U.S. intelligence who becomes a hunted man after he is not among the victims of a mass murder of his colleagues. Faye Dunaway does solid work as the frightened and mystified woman whom he forces to conceal him, and Max von Sydow is appropriately cool as a professional assassin. That same, sustained tone of danger and expectation that made Pollack's The Firm so much fun can be found in this 1975 thriller, albeit with an appropriate dose of post-Watergate paranoia. --Tom Keogh

2.Sydney Pollack directed this post-Watergate political thriller in which Robert Redford plays Joe Turner, a bookish CIA researcher who returns from lunch to find that all of his co-workers have been shot dead. Suddenly Turner is unsure whom to trust, since he realizes that whoever committed these murders must want him dead too. Turner quickly goes into hiding and forces a total stranger, Kathy Hale (Faye Dunaway), to let him stay at her apartment. Although Kathy is at first frightened of Turner, she eventually sympathizes with and grows to care for him. Meanwhile, the quick-thinking Turner has been constantly eluding death and strategizing to stay one step ahead of the killer. But when he finally unravels the mystery behind the deaths, Turner must decide what to do with the information before it's too late. Pollack's fast-paced suspense thriller is supported by a formidable cast, including Max von Sydow and John Houseman. The screenplay is based on the novel SIX DAYS OF THE CONDOR by James Grady.

3.Robert Redford stars as a CIA agent (code name Condor) on the run from a mass slaughter in his CIA research office. Reporting the massacre to his superior (Cliff Robertson), Redford suddenly finds himself the target of both his employers and the unknown killers of his associates. Faye Dunaway portrays a lonely photographer who is abducted by Redford and seduced into helping him.
