NORA JANE NOONE plays wild child Holly, a fearless and impulsive base jumper who the group jokingly describe as Juno’s protégé. She lives for the adrenalin high of adventure and danger, and is determined to get her kicks out of the trip, which she has decided is too tame for her liking.
On playing Holly, Nora Jane says: “My character, Holly, is very reckless and a bit ‘off the wall’. She’s sort of an adventure sports, punk chick, so she was great fun to play. She rushes into danger head first, but it catches up with her, boy does it catch up with her.”
Nora-Jane Noone made her professional movie debut playing the leading role of BERNADETTE in Peter Mullan's film THE MAGDALENE SISTERS.
The movie won the Best Film prize in the 2002 Venice Film Festival, and was nominated as Best British Picture at the BAFTAs. Nora-Jane also won Best Actress in an Ensemble Role at The British Independent Film Awards.
She has recently co-starred in the Celador feature, THE DESCENT directed by Neil Marshall, and the Miramax feature ELLA THE ENCHANTED. Other work includes the film NEWS FOR THE CHURCH written and directed by Andrew McCarthy, THE LISTENER directed by Michael Chang, and recorded WALKING AT RINGSEND for BBC Radio 4.
Nora-Jane's recent TV work includes Tessa in AFTERLIFE directed by Charles Beeson, Darryl in HOLBY CITY, directed by Richard Platt and Louise in Granada TV's CORONATION STREET.
Nora-Jane originates from Newcastle in County Galway, Ireland.
She trained for two years at the Performing Arts School in Galway, and is a proficient musician (piano to Grade 7 level) and dancer.
