Tagline: From The Caverns Of The Deep... It Strikes!
Plot: This 1980 drive-in classic from Roger Corman's New World Pictures gives B-film lovers a great mishmash of sex, violence, and monsters in one ridiculously fun package. The sleepy fishing village of Noyo begins to experience a wave of violence. Men are being murdered and women are being abducted. It comes to light that a genetic experiment has gone awry, and a race of half-man/half-fish creatures are rising from the sea... to mate with human women! Features the late Vic Morrow, a great twist ending, and an early score from TITANIC composer James Horner. Corman remade the film in 1997 for a series on the Showtime cable

Appalling and unconvincing exercise in gore is just so needlessly bloody and the creatures look so fake it fails badly. Sloppy fare.
The flick is somewhat professionally done and isn't unwatchably bad. But it isn't anything to twist and shout about either. Director Peeters has said that she didn't direct some of the more "intense" scenes in the film. As it turns out, they were probably the best things in the movie.
A typical cheesy 80's creature flick, but an entertaining one! If you can get through the bad acting and slow parts, you'll be rewarded with a pretty cool little massacre towards the end. Recommended if you're looking for a mindless cheesy horror flick wi 6/10
