Credits

Nigel Cole in Lot Like Love, A (2005)

NIGEL COLE (Director) began his career in theatre before moving on to television. He directed the first season of the award-winning British comedy series “Cold Feet,” as well as documentaries for the “In the Wild” series, which took celebrities including Julia Roberts, Robin Williams and Meg Ryan to learn about the people and wildlife in remote parts of the world.

He made his feature film debut with “Saving Grace,” which enjoyed an enthusiastic world premiere at the 2000 Sundance Film Festival where it won the Audience Award.

Brenda Blethyn was subsequently nominated for a Golden Globe® award after the film’s successful US release. In 2003, Cole directed “Calendar Girls,” a film which was inspired by the real-life story of a group of women who became headline news when they posed nude in their women’s organization’s calendar to raise money for leukemia. “Calendar Girls” won Best Film at the 2003 British Comedy awards and received a Golden Globe® nomination for Helen Mirren. It went on to be one of the most popular British films of all time, staying at number one in Britain for four weeks.
