The Hand Reviews |
Early directorial effort by Oliver Stone is interesting to see only if you want to see Stone doing a standard genre picture, but otherwise it's just a mediocre time that plays okay but has minimal suspense, is a mite tedious and is loaded with lots of throat chokings but no thrills. It's genuine, legitimate schlock. Just not very good schlock. ... The flick has a low budget and it shows. There aren't any thrilling effects, but the acting is decent and the story, while slow, maintains enough tension and suspense to keep you watching worth catching. [read review] -- (eSplatter.com)
...the filmmakers don't know what they want to do with this movie. It might have worked as a character drama--the characters' motives are interesting enough--but there isn't much scary or, failing that, funny about The Hand's approach to its own idea. [read review] --Jack Witzig (ColdSpot)
