The real question is: WHY did he feel compelled to move the picture to Chicago? Besides the possible desire of John Cusack to film in the US, I can't imagine why Frears would feel compelled to change the setting for the flick. There are a lot of good things that came out of it, and I can't really argue with what is undebatably a great product, but the question lingers. Another oddity is the great, brief Springsteen cameo, which leaves the viewer wondering how it came to pass. I can't believe there's no commentary track on this DVD! |
