Cedric the Entertainer in Serving Sara (2002)

CEDRIC THE ENTERTAINER (Ray) is a popular and versatile comedian best known as one of the stars of the hit film "The Original Kings of Comedy," MTV’s documentary feature directed by Spike Lee. In addition, over 144 million television viewers witnessed Cedric nab the number one commercial spot for Bud Light during the broadcast of the 2001 Superbowl, and USA Today dubbed him "Madison Avenue’s Most Valuable Player." This fall, he will debut his new sketch/variety television series "Cedric The Entertainer Presents..." and his first comedy book, Grown Ass Man, published by Ballantine Books, came out this last January.

Cedric made his film debut in the Reginald Hudlin produced comedy "Ride." Some of his other screen credits include "Big Momma’s House" with Martin Lawrence and "Kingdom Come" with Whoopi Goldberg and EL Cool J. He was the featured voice of Zoo Bear in "Dr. Dolittle 2" and, most recently, the voice of Carl the Rhino, in the hit animated feature "Ice Age." His upcoming projects include "Barbershop" with Ice Cube and the Coen Brothers’ comedy "Intolerable Cruelty" with George Clooney and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

On the small screen, Cedric served as host of BET’s "Comic View" and he played the lovable coach Cedric Robinson on the WB’s #1 rated sitcom, "The Steve Harvey Show," winning four consecutive NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actor in a Comedy Series. He was also a recipient of a Richard Pryor Comedy Award.

Beyond his career successes, Cedric’s philanthropic endeavors are far reaching, as he recently founded the Cedric the Entertainer Charitable Foundation, Inc., which contributes financial aid to inner-city communities through scholarships and outreach programs to enhance the lives of youths and families in his hometown of St. Louis. The Foundation is currently expanding its efforts to raise funds and develop similar programs nationwide.
