TONY SHALHOUB (Prophet Jack) recently co-starred in the Coen Brothers' The Man Who Wasn't There portraying Freddy Riedenschneider; Steve Beck's 13 Ghosts and Gary Fleder's Imposter.
His numerous film roles also include Robert Rodriguez' Spy Kids, Dean Parisot's Galaxy Quest, Edward Zwick's The Siege, Steven Zaillan's A Civil Action and Searching for Bobby Fischer, Stanley Tucci's The Imposters, Mike Nichols' Primary Colors, Andrew Niccol's Gattaca, Barry Sonnenfeld's Men In Black, Stanley Tucci and Campbell Scott's Big Night, for which Shalhoub earned the Best Supporting Actor award from the National Society of Film Critics; Andrew Berman's Honeymoon in Vegas, and Norman Rene's Longtime Compan ion. He starred opposite Ewan McGregor and Cameron Diaz in A Life Less Ordinary directed by Danny Boyle, as a Russian immigrant in Paulie, and opposite Meg Ryan in I.Q.
Shalhoub made his feature film debut portraying a cabby in Quick Change with Bill Murray and Geena Davis, and soon after starred opposite John Goodman and John Turturro as a cocky young entertainment executive in the black comedy Barton Fink.
Shalhoub's television credits include starring in the telefilm remakes of Gypsy, starring Bette Midler (directed by Emile Ardolino) and That Championship Season (directed by Paul Sorvino). He appeared in Day One and Neon Jungle and starred in the sitcom Stark Raving Mad and was a series regular on the NBC hit comedy series Wings, portraying Antonio Scarpacci, the Italian cab driver and had guest-starring roles on series such as The X-Files, Frasier, Almost Perfect, and Ally McBeal.
On Broadway, Shalhoub appeared in the Tony® Award-winning play Conversations With My Father (for which he received a Tony nomination), the Pulitzer Prize-garnered The Heidi Chronicles, (both directed by Daniel Sullivan) and the female version of The Odd Couple. Off-Broadway, Shalhoub was most recently seen starring in the Classic Stage Company production of Waiting For Godot and has also been seen in Rameau 's Nephew, Norman Rene's For Dear Life, and Zero Positive, presented by The Public Theater, as well as Henry IV, Part 1 and Richard III, both produced by the New York Shakespeare Festival.
Shalboub recently completed production on his feature directorial debut, the independent film Made Up, co-starring Brooke Adams and Gary Sinise.
Born and raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Shalhoub received his Master's degree at the Yale School of Drama and then spent four years at the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is married to actress Brooke Adams, whom he met while working on The Heidi Chronicles.
