This film touched me so deeply. It took me back to a time when I was coming to terms with being gay. I felt exactly like Steven Carter. I had my own "John Dixon" in real life - except mine really was straight. I pined for him everyday - and like Steven in "Get Real" - eventually had to let him go. The acting in this movie is superb by every performer. You can honestly feel the pressure the two lead characters are going through. I just wanted to reach through the TV screen, hug them, and tell them it does get better!!
