Plot: Join French explorer Bernard Buigues and a team of scientist five thousand miles from civilization in the freezing Siberian tundra for a scientifically monumental event. The plan is to extract the carcass of a male woolly mammoth that has been encased in a frozen block of earth for over 20,000 years, and then transport it almost 300 kilometers via helicopter. During the execution of this amazing task, the team encounter more than a fair share of obstacles--including a few unexpected snow and ice storms--but their exhausting efforts are greatly rewarded. Ultimately, scientists hope to collect DNA samples to be used in attempting to clone the prehistoric beast. Presented by the Discovery Channel and narrated by Jeff Bridges.
