Real life husband and wife tandem Jane Seymour and James Keach star as the heads of the Robinson family in this update of the classic novel. Sailing from Singapore to Sydney, the family is attacked by pirates and left stranded on a desert island. As they learn to survive in their new environment, the family bands together to plot their escape, since the pirates try to make sure that the Robinsons cannot leave. However, with the help of some animal friends, the Robinsons attempt to outwit the unsuspecting pirates.

Based on the original classic, the Robinson family, Jack, Anna, and their children Shane, Todd, and Elizabeth set out to sail from Singapore to Sydney. But when pirates attack their small boat, they narrowly escape by swimming to a nearby tropical island. Together, they must use their ingenuity and new-found animal friends to not only survive, but to find a way off the island and return home again.
