Early on in development, Kevin Smith was considered to write the script.

The only people to appear in all three scary movie films are Anna Faris (Cindy) and Regina Hall (Brenda).

"I just wanna wish you good luck, we're all counting on you," is Leslie Nielsen's final line in this film and the line he says on numerous occasions in the 1980 movie Airplane - also directed by David Zucker.
